Steffen Pascal Meister works with the tensions between landscape and abstraction, organic flows of colour and geometric forms. Acrylic, spray paint and shellac meet precise lines and constructed pictorial spaces. His paintings develop through an interplay of spontaneous material processes and deliberate interventions.

Born in Herdecke in 1988, he graduated from the University of Fine Arts Essen with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2018. His artistic beginnings lie in graffiti writing. The Fortaleza body of work connects impressions of Brazil with his exploration of contrasts in painting.
